Was leuk joh -.- ;-)).

En dan die
godvergeten hitte daar! Djuh!

Fallen angels ~ Cruise blog, no.3

Been in such a constant Backstreet-flow for the last few weeks, that I haven’t found the time to continue writing on my cruise-experiences. It has occurred just recently that I’ve landed with both feet on the ground again, back into the normal world. Or at least; normal in the way I know as normal ;-). The cruise has only been 3 weeks ago, but it seems like áges. Time for cruise blog, number 3.

Ok, so… we had an amazing first day on the boat. We went to bed wáy to late and got up wáy to early; 3 hours of sleep. Woke up dead! But we were good, we were good ;-). Had a nice breakfast en got ready for the Bahama’s. OH YEAH INDEED! We had sailed all night and would arrive to the Bahama’s soon. We got ready and we were actually one of the first to get off the ship and enter the little boat that would get us to one of the Islands. So, off we went…

BackstreetCruise2013=) 283

Really, we were só excited. I mean, comon: how often do you visit the Bahama’s ánd visit the Bahama’s while the Backstreet Boys will be there too. That never happens! Except, when you’re on Backstreet-cruise ;-).

Nice to know that I already managed to accomplish one thing of my recently made bucket-list: Set foot on the Bahama’s;

BackstreetCruise2013=) 299

We arrived @ Half Moon Cay, around noon I think. WOW! The water is actually as clear as you see on all the photo’s in magazines and on tv. It ís everything like that, and more! =) We walked at the beach and soon came to realise that they were setting up the stage and everything for the beach-party with the guys. We couldn’t get there completely, because security stopped us way before the stage, and we had to line up. Oh crap! Everybody knew that hell would break loose anytime soon. Fans are crazy! More and more fans lined up and I was seriously standing with one foot in front of me, waiting for ány signal that would say: ‘Run Eveline, run like the wind!!!’. Every fan wants to stand in front, that’s the way it is. And then…. someone farted and off we went; 2000 fans ran into the stage. God d*mn it… I’m 30 years old for crying out loud!!!! However, obviously I fought for my place in the crowd as well. Dúh! And we ended up right in front of the stage. It was perfect!

BackstreetCruise2013=) 311

The Backstreet Boys were the last ones to enter the Island. With a véry nice arrival, I must say. Anyways, it was such a fun afternoon, filled with games, songs, music, sun and lóts… of Backstreet! I mean: what more could I’ve wished for at that very moment? =)

At one point the Backstreet Boys were having a wet T-shirt contest and needed 5 girls to come up the stage. And MY FRIEND was one of those 5 girls. How amazingly cool is that?! 😀 She rocks!!!!

Some random shots of the Beachparty:

BackstreetCruise2013=) 341 BackstreetCruise2013=) 346 BackstreetCruise2013=) 370

After the beachparty we took the time to enjoy the beach itself and it’s surroundings. Nice :-D. The sign that is at the beginning of the beach, is there for a reason… ‘cuz nobody wants to leave 😉

BackstreetCruise2013=) 296

At the end of the afternoon it was time to head back to the big boat, and when we were back on the ship, we bumped into… uuhm… what’s his name again? 😉 Whaaaaaat a coincidence! 😛 You don’t make this stuff up!!!

BackstreetCruise2013=) 391

We took a nice cocktail after that, and before we knew it, it was diner-time. FOOOOOD!!!!!! We were starving, so food was necessary. We didn’t have much time, ‘cuz our group (group A) had the “In a world like this”- concert that evening. So we had to be on top of our games again around nine. Which we were and enjoyed an AMAZING concert. WOW! Ok, and I’m not just saying this because I’m a die hard-fan (for 18 years already) or because i have seen them live, like 50 times, but: The Backstreet Boys are réally good live in concert. They blow you away!

BackstreetCruise2013=) 418 BackstreetCruise2013=) 426 BackstreetCruise2013=) 434

After the concert we got ready for the next theme-party. Because yes: the day was nót over yet. This evening’s theme was Halloween. Allrighty then….. so we dressed up again…

BackstreetCruise2013=) 454

Ofcourse the boys were there too ánd dressed up as well. Such fun!

And seriously, we kept bumping into….. Exactly!!! 😀 And what was even more funny; there were seriously no other fans around at this point, at that specific part of the ship. None, what so ever! Really, we had a blast. Also thanks to Nick & Mike (security) =).

BackstreetCruise2013=) 469

Halloween-party was not over yet but we knew that Nick would go DJ-ing around 02.30 am on a different part of the boat. Ok then… follow the leader ;-). And so did mány other fans =).

BackstreetCruise2013=) 476 BackstreetCruise2013=) 480

Aaaaahhhh this was really nice. It was totally in the middle of the night, but everybody went crazy, like they haven’t been up for 20 hours in a row. LOL! Só cool!!!

After the DJ-Nick-Party we got back to the Halloween-party. Worked my way into the VIP deck, without a VIP wristband at that time! Still can’t believe that security-guy did nót pay attention. And with Backstreet Boys-fans, you álways gotta pay attention!!!!! 😛 Such a rookie-mistake, I’m sure the guy was new …..However, I didn’t care… I met Howie shortly after that, around 04.00 am;

BackstreetCruise2013=) 483

Annnnnyways…. me and the girls arrived back in our cabin around… shit i dunno…. around 5???

I honestly believe, that this day; saturday the 26th of October 2013 has been the most busy and (fun-) filled day I have éver had. I don’t think I will ever be able to put móre things in one day, than this day. My head touched the pillow and it took 2,5 seconds for me, to fall into a sleep-coma.

At 07.30 am the alarm clock woke us up again. Another day filled with fun!

WOW!!!! What a cruise! 😀

De lijm die ons samen houdt.

(Nog even geen “cruise blog,no.3”, maar geloof me: die komt, die komt ;-)! Eerst even dit…)

Backstreet Boys in Nederland. We rock!

Challenge accepted! ~ Cruise blog, no.2

Ok, so where was I? Oh yeah, we went to sleep on Thursday-night, not knowing that that would be our last proper night of sleep for 4 days in a row ;-).

On Friday-morning we got our stuff together and checked out of the Marriott, ready to leave for the big boat. Around noon we arrived at the cruise-terminal and left our suitcases there where we were told to, and then started checking in. Checking in for real! ‘OMG‘, was the only thing we could think of, during the whole checking-in process.

Oh no wait, there were some other thoughts too:

‘WTF, wtf, wtf, wtf!’

‘Is everybody kidding me, or is this for real?’

‘Am I dreaming?’

‘Is that girl aware of the fact that her boobs are completely hanging out and that they’re almost touching the ground as if they want to break free and start walking for themselves?!?!’

Annnnnyway….

We got our sail&sign-card (which was also your room-key) and entered the ship!!! WOWIE, we were there!!!! We…. Were…. There!!!!!!!! AWESOMENESS!!!!

BackstreetCruise2013=) 097

Our suitcases were brought to our room somewhere during the afternoon, so we decided to explore the ship. But so did 1997 other fans, but whatever ;-). We drank our first cocktail (of mány to follow), and we did it in style;

BackstreetCruise2013=) 101

After drinking that, we soon got the message that the boys entered the ship as well. IIIEEEHHH! Nice! Strangly enough we didn’t feel the urge to try and find them right away…. I know; what the hell was wrong with us?! (oeh, don’t open that door :-P). However, shortly after that we got the message that Nick was eating on deck at the very front of the ship (or at the very back, seriously…. I don’t know; I’ve been on that ship for 4 days, and still was completely lost whenever I wasn’t near my own cabin). Anyway: so, we knew where Nick was. One problem: we were nót , where he was. We met some nice girls we know and they said to us: “Yeah, Nick is over there, but you will never be able to get to him properly, it’s very crowded and you’ll never reach him”.

Ok, that was clear! We would never get to him at that point, according to our friends. And they must have seen it for themselves, right?! However, it did not matter, all I could think was:

Challenge…. Accepted! 😉

Ok, and folks, I don’t wanna make a big deal out of this or anything, but seriously…. 4,5 minutes after the “you will never get to him”-message, the next picture of me and Nick was taken:

Nick&ik

(Picture taken with my friend’s camera)

Nice, ain’t it?! 😉 A strange feeling of proudness came upon me. And basically; that’s só pathetic! 😛 And completely idiot, because: hellooooo… what’s the big fuss? I hate to break this news and burst the bubble, but I just gótta tell you…. The Backstreet Boys…. Are human!!!!! I know, it’s mindblowing!!! 😉 (LOL) I was just as shocked as you, when I realised that 15 years ago! Because when I was 12, 13 or 14, I didn’t see them as people. I saw them as…I dunno, like; gods, who did not have a life outside the stage. As a matter of fact, I didn’t see them as living human beings at all outside the venue. Period! But in 1998 / 1999 I started to meet them outside the venues as well, and suddenly came to realise: Shit…. They’re people! Like me! Like you! With feelings! And thoughts! And they have flaws! And they fight! And fart! Real normal people….. People who wipe their asses after number 2! (Or at least, I hope so… If they don’t, I don’t wanna know! :-P).

Uhm…. ok, awkward…. what brought me to this point again?

Oh yeah, meeting Nick! Cool! I like him!

BackstreetCruise2013=) 127

BackstreetCruise2013=) 128

And met Howie as well not long after that….

BackstreetCruise2013=) 134

Later on we went to the deck where the Sail-Away-party would be. But first, there was the boring safety-drill where everybody had to be a part of. NOBODY wanted too, and NOBODY heard the guy talking. Or at least, we all heard him talking, but the words didn’t stick in the brain… all we thought was: ‘Backstreet Boys, Backstreet Boys, Backstreet Boys!’. After a long wait (which we’re familiar with in Backstreet-land, so no big deal) the sail-away party began… YAY!!!!

BackstreetCruise2013=) 156

BackstreetCruise2013=) 180

It was áwesome to be a part of that!!! They rocked the stage and OMG, they looked só very hot in those captain-outfits. I felt like 16 again; hormones screaming through every inch of my body! LOOOL! Halfway of the sail-away party I realised why they called it the sail-away party…. ‘cuz yes, suddenly we were actually sailing… away from Miami! Bahama’s; here we come!

When the party was over we went to our room. Our suitcases weren’t brought to our cabin yet, so we couldn’t change clothes at that time, but we did get to see our cabin and it was nice =). We had something to eat and during dinner I realised… that I experienced a bit of motion-sickness. CRAP! Everything stayed inside ‘tho, but it wasn’t nice, i can tell you that! Luckily during the evening it got better and the motion-sickness didn’t return during the rest of the cruise. Yay for me!

After dinner we, (group A), all gathered in the concert-hall for a game with the boys, called: “Are you smarter than a Backstreet Boy?”. So cool. A group of 2 x 5 girls were picked out, to intent the game with them. Questions were asked and whoever gave the correct answer got points. Ah, you know; you sort of had to be there, to really get how much fun it was 😛

BackstreetCruise2013=) 214

We also got to meet Kevin again, after the quiz =)

BackstreetCruise2013=) 230

Later that evening it was time for the first theme-night: NEON-party!

BackstreetCruise2013=) 234

And that party kicked ass!!!! We had so much fun! =) And while partying, my friend suddenly poked me and said: “AJ, AJ, there…. AJ is standing next to us. Turn around!”

Well, hello to you too! 😀

BackstreetCruise2013=) 241

BackstreetCruise2013=) 242 (2)

(Picture taken with my friend’s camera)

The evening was a complete blast!!!! Somewhere during the evening we met Howie again as well. Flash didn’t went off… I blame the security-guy! 😛 And we also partied with Kevin for a short while.

BackstreetCruise2013=) 250

(picture taken with my friend’s camera)

We went to bed around 4.30 am, completely wasted. Haha! And little did we know that there was só much more to come =). Ieeeehhh…. In what dimension did we end up, for crying out loud? 😛

To be continued…. 😉

Unagi! ~ Cruise-blog, no.1

Being a fan is… i dunno, it’s like “unagi”. It’s not something you are, it’s something you have! A feeling from deep down inside. Like a state of mind that is only understand by other fans.

Last week the 3rd annual Backstreet Boys-cruise was thé happening in the land of Backstreet. Approximately 2000 fans were lucky enough to be a part of that. I was one of them. AAAAH! First time cruiser! And seriously, I’ve been back home since Tuesday-evening and i’m still not able to find the right words…. Or words period, to describe how it was. To describe what we did. To tell what we’ve seen. To mention when and how many times we met them. That, and much more. However, in the next few days I am going to try to share some of our cruise-stories. I have no idea yet what I will or won’t tell, bu I’ll just let the words flow out ;-).

Note: if there are people out there, who don’t grant others besides themselves, to have fun and joy with the Backstreet Boys, then please don’t read or comment on my blog. I’m just writing this blog to share the fun. Nothing more, nothing less.

Ok, so the adventure for me started last week Tuesday, 22nd of October 2013. I can NOT believe this is already been 11 days ago. It feels like freaking yesterday. But on the other hand, the scary part is: so much has happend since that specific Tuesday, that by heart; it feels like a year ago. I left my 2 wonderful daughters and my husband at home. Which was ok! I mean: my daughters did want to come with me (they’re 6 & 2 years old, little fans-to-be), but the hubby… haha, he wouldn’t even want to be seen dead on that cruise-ship, let alone have fun on it :-P. So, I left those sweeties at home. Yes, for once, mommy was gonna have a week of fun withóut them ;-). I headed to Amsterdam, where my two friends live, with whom I was going. I arrived and we had champagne to celebrate the start of this huge trip we were going to experience. Gosh, we were actually going to do this! One word: EPIC! (in the meaning of super awesome ;-))

BackstreetCruise2013=) 007

On Wednesday-morning véry early, we left for the airport. When traveling that far, I always wonder during every second of the entire trip to the airport: “Ok, so what did I forget?”. Luckily nothing. Or at least, nothing important. We first flew to New York, it was an 9 hour flight. Call me crazy, but I even enjoyed the flight. The food was eatable (it all stayed inside :-P), the wine on the airplane was drinkable (because yes; ofcourse we had some) and we all had our own private tv! What was there nót to enjoy ?! After our transfer in New York, we flew to Miami. In the airplane we sat behind another Backstreet-fan; with love from Russia. All of our cellphones were dead in the plane, except for hers! Ok, good for her! But because of that, she saw that AJ placed a tweet saying something like: “Leaving Los Angeles to Miami”….. What we considered code-language for: ‘Dear fans, come and pick me up from the airport in Miami, I’ll be expecting you!’. LOL! So what we did, was look for information regarding all flights from Los Angeles leaving to Miami, that afternoon. And what’dya know…. There was an airplane from LA arriving, not even an hour after our flight. Ok, so we waited. And we waited. And we…. AH! Look at that…. AJ & Kevin….

BackstreetCruise2013=) 022

foto (10)

Now that is what I call, a very good start of our Backstreet-vacation ;-).

After we were done shaking our asses off, we went to our hotel The Marriott, which was nearby the port of Miami Cruise-Terminal, where the ship would set sail two days later. It was a véry nice hotel. And ok, you’re not much in your hotelroom when you’re in Miami, but still, the room ánd the view were amazing!

BackstreetCruise2013=) 029

Later that evening we had some cocktails. All the right reasons to have a toast: we arrived safely, we already met Kevin & AJ, our hotel was beautiful ánd we were setting sail in only two days. WHOOOP! Didn’t suck to be us! After our cocktails we headed to bed. We were so tired and only god knew at that point how little sleep we were gonna get in the days after that :-P.

On Thursday we had a nice and proper breakfast in the Marriott. During breakfast we discovered a picture on twitter that a fan made of Brian and Leighanne on an aiport. So we were like; ‘Did they already arrive?’. After doing some “homework” we came to realise that the photo wasn’t at Miami-airport, but it wás at Atlanta airport. Well gosh darn! Our thoughts were the same: let’s pick them up when they arrive here too =). Our friends from Holland helped us out by checking several flights, coming from Atlanta. There were coming quite a few, and all with different exits in Miami, but hey, it was worth the try… let’s go!

“So Eveline, what did you see when visiting Miami?” “Uhm… well dad… the airport!” 😛

And BAM… we were lucky again….

BackstreetCruise2013=) 062

BackstreetCruise2013=) 061

BackstreetCruise2013=) 071

(Funny photo with Brian)

And ok ok…we have to admit… we missed Nick at the airport. He arrived like an hour befóre we arrived. But comon, we were having breakfast at that time. I mean… we need food as well, to keep up this fan-life ;-).

We went outside the airport to have a smoke (and I don’t even normally smoke, but during tours or other Backstreet-related stuff… I smoke… A LOT! :-P). We were looking at our pictures and came to realise we weren’t even in Miami for 24 hours and already had some kick-ass photos. How cool was that! Ship hadn’t even set sail and we already had a blast.

Later that day we did some touristy-stuff. We wanted to show home that we didn’t just see the airport while we were there. No, my sweet family and friends: we also visited Coconut Grove. HA!! And shopped at Victoria’s Secret. And sended some postcards out (which all still didn’t make it to Holland by the way). So…. We díd do normal tourist-stuff as well ;-).

We had something to eat in the evening and visited some other hotels as well (can’t harm to check some stuff out ;-)).

BackstreetCruise2013=) 084

Ok, wow, more than 1100 words already and I didn’t even came to  the first cruise-day yet! Lol! I think this was all for today. Log in for another cruise-blog somewhere in the next few days! See ya!!!!
